Wow.. It's been a loonnnggg time since.... [25 Nov 2002|09:43am]
[ mood | content ]

Well, it seems like it's been forever since I last updated this journal. I guess I'm just one of the many that jumped on this online journal thing once I heard about it.

Not too much has gone on here. I recently moved down the street, just a couple blocks away, into yet another one of my cousins houses that we rent from him. I like this house, although I did lose my big, huge room. My room seemed more like an apartment studio, than just another bedroom. It had a fireplace and I was able to fit in my couch, computer desk, bed, and my 35" TV and still have plenty of room to run around in. Now all the bedrooms are about the same size, and I have my computer desk in the den, with my TV in the living room.

I recently upgraded my computer and now I'm sportin' an Intel 2.4Ghz!! I bought the cpu/motherboard bundle they had at Fry's, and(I think) I was lucky to have a m/b that supports both DDR and my old SDRAM. So I was able to save $100 bucks by not having to buy a new stick of 256mb DDR. Now I'm looking for a new video card, cuz I tried out Lord of The Rings, and to me, the game still looks shitty. I feel like I'm watching a slideshow, instead of playing a video game.

That's about it for now. I'm still working at the same place as last reported here, and I'm lovin it. No complaints here. Well... I'll save that for the next post!!! CYA...

I am staying [07 Aug 2002|10:15am]
[ mood | happy ]

Well.. I finally decided to stay here at KWC. The decision came about last week, when they Finally made me an offer. It was what I originally asked for when I first interviewed for this job. I was considering other offers, and actually had another job lined up and was supposed to start next week. But the offer here was good enough to make me stay. I am happy here, and I am not sure if I would have been happy at the other job. The benefits are real good here, at least from my experience.

I am happy it is all over with. This process was taking waaaayyy too long.

Looks like they are going to offer me a "regular" position here. Which means I won't be a "temp" anymore. But I still have yet to see an offer. My supe came down here yesterday and told me that I should be seeing the offer this week. But after thinking about what we had talked about, it doesn't seem like it is the offer I am seeking. He was making it sound as if the best chance for me to get the type of pay that I wanted, would be to accept the offer and wait after a couple reviews, and by then my supe would have more input as to what I would be making(we are in the middle of a transition at my company, which means that I will be a part of the company before my supervisor... I know it sounds strange, but that is the way it is). It just seems to me as though they're going to keep me dragging along and make me play the waiting game.

[ mood | infuriated ]

My day at work excluded... today is just a bad day. I don't know why but I am almost always in a bad mood when I get home from work, and today what I found when I got home just made it a terrible day.

I get home to find that all the cushions in my couch, except for one, were missing. Seeing that we are watching my sisters dog Franchesca during the day, I can only think of two reasons, and I'm not going to explain what they are, just guess it and you got it right. Not only did Frankie shit on my couch, she pissed in my closet. My nephew seeing this happen decided to pick her up WHILE she was pissing and continued to have her leaking across the room, all the way to the patio door(this is from what my sister told me). Hearing this shit, just got me soo mad. I couldn't even say anything. I mean we got 4 people here during the day, and they can't even watch a 4(?) month old puppy. I know that they are only taking her out for a few minutes a day, otherwise she wouldn't have crapped and pissed all over my room.

Maybe I'm taking this too hard, but I don't think so. I mean, come on! Take the dog out for awhile, not just after she ate, or just a few minutes to see if she needed to pee. Sometimes people make things harder than it really is.

No luck [19 Jul 2002|02:39pm]
[ mood | disappointed ]

Well, I went to the Barnes & Noble store in La Mesa the other day and was disappointed. :( They didn't have the Dreamweaver MX for Dummies book that I saw online. So I ended up going home, after perusing through their magazines and books, and buying it through their website. Now I have to wait... and wait... and wait... I ordered it on Wednesday, and they still haven't shipped it yet!! grrrrr... If it's shipped via UPS, then I know my friend Connie is going to deliver it to my house, because that's her route.

and the waiting conitinues...

Dreamweaving.... [17 Jul 2002|10:54am]
[ mood | creative ]

I really want to start learning how to use Macromedia Studio MX and plan on going to Barnes & Noble and checking out their selection of how-to books on MX. I've heard that it is really easy to setup and integrate applications for a website. I'm not sure yet what content will be on the site, but I am interested in starting my own personal weblog with it's own address. I've heard about Moveable Type and Radioland's software, but I need to get started somewhere! With Macromedia's software... there are so many endless possibilities!!

What a week... [14 Jul 2002|06:30pm]
[ mood | relaxed ]

The past week has been pretty good to I must say. It had its ups and downs, just like like any good week would have, but I would have to say that this week was one of the better and more adventurous weeks I've had in awhile(at least for my boring life is concerned!).

Well, I guess I'll start off with my friends party which happened in the last part of the week before. The party was just off the hook! There were so many people packed into there, friend Adrian was DJ'ing, and had a couple kegs which by the time I got there was down to one, and was done about an hour later. It was soo packed that the DJ stopped playing so people would get out and leave. Tempers flared, people yelling and shouting threats to each other as everyone was leaving. People were scared that some of the people were gonna leave and come back and start some shit, which convinced most of the partygoers to leave NOW! Most of my friends were involved, but after all was over, everyone was safe.

I'm still contemplating which job to take, but as far as of right now, I am leaning to staying at my current jobIF they match the offer I received from the other company. I had a meeting with my super, and the manager, and discussed the situation and it looks like a deal/offer should be done soon. If they don't match the offer, I am 90% sure I will leave. There are too many possible opportunities that could be had at the other company.

My birthday came up in the middle of the week, which I wasn't expecting anything, but my friends and I went over and hung out at Fridays where I found myself getting very acquainted with their restroom facilities before the night was done. For the life of me, I will never figure out how Wild Turkey bourbon has become a birthday tradition with me and my friends. But I will make sure that my friends will have a taste of the Turkey when their birthdays come up(which will be in the coming months).

Friday was a good day, sort of. I hung out with Carlos, and we originally planned to go eat at Wings N' Things, but we ended up going to Viejas where I lost about $120 playing the slots, but could have actually came out about even, had I taken my money out when I started winning at "Touch Easy Keno". Which I actually liked, and would play again(am I addicted now?).

Saturday came up and Carlos picked me up and we left to go meet up with Jeff at Chili's. It's a cool place to hang out, which I found out was Jeff's hangout spot of choice. He said he frequents it at least 2 times per week. If any of you go, get a Ranch Burger. They're really good. Since Jeff didn't make it to Fridays earlier in the week, he said that he would treat to lunch and drinks. So I ended up getting 2 Sammy's, 2 Cuervo 1800 shots, and something else that the bartender made up, which we all thought tasted like Listerine and gave us a fresh minty taste(it had jagermeister and some blue curacao maybe?). Jeff and I ended up getting 1 more Cuervo for the road, but there were consequences for that... which I won't get into here, because some people might get into trouble for it. I'll just say that Chili's wasn't the last stop of the day.

After Effects [05 Jul 2002|02:07pm]
[ mood | drained ]
[ music | 2pac - I get around ]

I really need to stop drinking. Feeling like shit the next day, makes me wonder why I even do. I drank so much yesterday, I didn't even care about the fireworks. Besides, the people at my spot provided their own and were letting them go everywhere. I mean EVERYWHERE! All of us were ducking for cover and hiding behind each other when we couldn't find anything else to hide behind!

We usually get a spot on Fiesta Island, but this year nobody wanted to go down and get a spot early. You have to get down there before 7am to get a spot otherwise you're assed out! So this year we knew some people who were going to De Anza Cove, and we just kicked it with them. It was a good spot, because about 100 feet away was a party that had a DJ. Actually a few of them, and one of them was a friend, Adrian. He was throwin down the hot mix on the 1's and 2's! On the way down to the beach, I was worried that nobody would have a radio, but I was relieved and ecstatic that they were pumpin out the jams!

Yesterday was a good day...I guess it was worth it...You just have to take the good with the bad...

(Table)Tennis anyone?? [02 Jul 2002|12:03pm]
[ mood | content ]

One more thing that happened over the weekend that I forgot to mention... My sister was passing by a garage sale when a ping pong table caught her attention. She thought that it would be great if we could get it and keep it at my Mom and Dad's place. She called me up and asked if I wanted to chip in with my brother and her and get it. She said that the people were selling it for $45. I couldn't believe that when she told me, but I was a little skeptical at the same time. A ping pong table for $45?? I asked her what kind of condition it was in, and she said that it looked real good, like it was barely used. Then the cheapskate in me was thinking... "Well, maybe tell them $30?". But the cheapskate didn't speak as loud as the kid in me saying,"Get it!! Get it!!". So I told my sister to go ahead and get it. After all the details were worked out, my brother and I went to go pick it up and couldn't believe what we saw... We were so disappointed. The quality of the table was really bad. It looked like it was put together overnight with parts bought from Home Depot. Both me and my brother kind of just took a big sigh and reluctantly loaded it up in the truck. We thought it was gonna fall apart on the way back home, because it was so flimsy, and it almost did!! We had to pull over twice on a 4 mile trip back home! We finally got it home and it was a bitch to get it into the patio. We had to squeeze it thru the entrance way from the side of the house, and we just thought this is too much of a hassle for this table! After we got it setup in the patio, I started playing a game with my nephew, then that's when the kid in me came out again. We had fun playing on our new(to us) ping pong table. After those first few games, I felt that it was a worthwhile investment and was very glad that we got it. Now I can't wait for our table tennis tournaments!!

Pugs [01 Jul 2002|12:59pm]
Over the weekend my sister brought over some Pugs that she is going to buy from her friend. She is going to choose one out of the two that she brought over. Those Pugs are too Cool!! I should have taken some pictures of the two of them together, since I won't be seeing them together anymore, but I do have pictures of them with my neices and nephews. The two pups have very different personalities. One is more aggressive, takes charge and is a little more playful, while the other is more subdued and seems less active, though they both are very playful and demand your attention by jumping and (playfully) biting you. The two of them were chasing my brothers chihuahua(Leo) around, but they couldn't keep up with him! He's much too fast for those Pugs! My sister said that she is going to choose the more aggressive one. I like them both! :)

[ mood | lethargic ]

Back to the drudgery. Back at work from my trip to Vegas, and still feeling the after effects. Alot of drinkin, not enough sleep, not enough time to drink some more :), winning money, losing money, winning more money, losing even more money, walkin in the hellish heat, this close to gettin my face rearranged by a beer bottle. But hey.. isn't this what Vegas is all about?? Can't wait for the next trip!!
